Four-star Marissa Neal commits to Auburn gymnastics

Marissa Neal is not only a four-star prospect, but she will also be competing for a spot on the U.S. national team at the 2022 world championships this weekend.

Auburn gymnastics is red-hot on the recruiting trail.

Just days after landing a commitment from four-star Katelyn Jong, the Tigers have landed one from [autotag]Marissa Neal,[/autotag] who announced her commitment Monday.

Neal is rated as a four-star prospect by College Gym News and is Auburn’s fifth commitment in the 2024 cycle.

She called the announcement “A DREAM COME TRUE,” on social media.

“I am so excited to announce that I have verbally committed to Auburn University on a full ride athletic scholarship,” Neal added. “I want to thank my coaches, teammates, and family for the endless amount of love and support. I can’t wait to join such a special team! War Eagle!”

Neal and Jong are both set to compete for a spot on the U.S. national team for the 2022 world championships this weekend. Making two of the 11 gymnasts competing for the six spots on the national team Auburn commits

Neal’s best performance so far came in July at the U.S. Classic in Salt Lake City. She took silver on the balance beam and finished fourth in the all-around.

The Blue Springs, Missouri native is the fifth member of Auburn’s stacked 2024 recruiting class and the second-highest rated. In addition to Neal and Jong, the class features five-star Olivia Ahern, four-star Sophia Bell, and three-star Anna Flynn Cashion.
