Aydin Breland is the kind of player USC wants to keep at home. The Trojans need to build a fence around their back yard to retain elite recruits, particularly on the defensive side of the ball. According to 247Sports, Breland is the 25th-ranked player, the fourth-ranked defensive lineman in the 2024 class, and the second-ranked player in California. He is listed at 6-5 and 290 pounds.
Breland recorded 24 tackles, 10.4 tackles for loss, and four sacks during his 2022 junior season, just scratching the surface of his enormous potential going forward. The prospect from Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana has considerable upside.
“Me and coach Lincoln Riley have a pretty close relationship and I love coach (Shaun) Nua. Always gotta keep home as an option, especially with USC on the uprise,” Breland said.
The summer is a pivotal time on the recruiting trail. Breland plans to use that time for official visits.
