Four-Star DL out of Texas gets USC offer

The work of building defensive line depth continues.

An offer by USC and its coaching staff has been extended to 2025 Lufkin (Texas) High School defensive tackle Zion Williams.

The 6-4, 295-pound defensive lineman is considered a four-star recruit by both ESPN and Rivals. Both outlets see Williams similarly, ranking him as the No. 133 and No. 149 overall player in the 2025 recruiting class, respectively. ESPN also ranked him as the No. 19 overall player in the state of Texas.

Nationally Zion Williams is 242nd on the board. He is also rated as the 29th best defensive lineman and No. 39 in the state of Texas.

Outside of USC, Williams has been offered by Texas, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Alabama, Arkansas, Notre Dame, Auburn and Baylor.

USC is beginning the 2023 college football season with some optimism that its defensive line can make a significant leap in performance from 2022. That aspiration is attached to a belief that the Trojans have more depth up front. The work of building depth on the defensive line will continue in future seasons and recruiting cycles. This is part of a very necessary process at USC.
