Four-star DL JaReylan McCoy leaves Trojans off top 12 list

USC won’t get a quality pass rusher from Mississippi.

2026 Tupelo (Mississippi) edge rusher JaReylan McCoy was offered by the USC Trojans last week. He now has narrowed down his list of schools to 12, but that list does not include USC.

The 6-foot-6, 245-pound McCoy is rated the No. 121 overall prospect, the No. 6 player in the state of Mississippi and the No. 21 defensive lineman in the 247Sports rankings.

“These schools have been consistent with the conversation and just getting to know my family instead of making it all about football,” McCoy told On3’s Chad Simmons. “Another thing is the schooling and how they have some good programs that can help me in the long run. Most of the schools in my top are schools that took the time to look over my film and break down what I could do differently. They just fill me up with better moves and try to help me get better.”

Ole Miss is the frontrunner according to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine with a 67.2% forecast. LSU, and Mississippi State are next in line. USC offered McCoy not that long ago, but this recruitment has come to an end for the Trojans.
