Four-star cornerback Isaiah Rubin gets 2024 offer from USC

Defensive line is USC’s top position group of need. Then comes the secondary. This recruitment will try to provide reinforcements.

The USC Trojans have a favorite for the 2024 class: Four-star cornerback Isaiah Rubin.

The 6-foot-1, 170-pound Rubin is rated the No. 316 overall prospect and the No. 29 cornerback in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite.

Rubin initially started his prep career at  Desert Pines High School in Las Vegas before announcing a transfer to Millikan (California) High School late in the season. Rubin has since transferred to Los Alamitos (Calif.) High School.

He attended Los Alamitos with incoming five-star Trojans Makai Lemon and Malachi Nelson.

Rubin announced his top-eight schools list back in December: Oregon, Colorado, Michigan, Washington, Arizona, BYU, UNLV, Utah, Auburn and Texas A&M, but has since seen offers from USC, Washington State and Ohio State.

USC’s primary position group of need is on the defensive line, but after that, the secondary is the next most important group where USC needs more reinforcements and has to make up the gap between the existing level of roster quality and the needed level of roster quality.

Rubin can close that gap quickly, in more ways than one.
