The North Carolina Tar Heels’ basketball program will have the chance to impress a big recruiting target this Fall.
After it was reported that four-star combo guard Derek Dixon is targeting this Fall for an official visit, that date has been set. Dixon will be on North Carolina’s campus the weekend of September 6th for that official visit.
The Washington, DC native earned an offer from North Carolina last month after the Tar Heels watched him on the AAU circuit. Dixon’s play was good enough to earn an offer from UNC and now he has stacked up a total of 17 offers in his recruitment thus far.

The combo guard currently plays at Gonzaga High School and has taken visits to Pitt, Syracuse, and Virginia so far in his recruitment. But with UNC getting a visit in September more should also be coming down the line.
The 6-foot-3, 190-pound Dixon is ranked No. 62 nationally, No. 12 combo guard, and No. 3 player in Washington DC per the 247Sports recruiting rankings for the 2025 class.
UNC has yet to land a commitment for the 2025 recruiting class but does have 15 offers out to prospects. With Hubert Davis and his staff looking for their first commitment, this could be a big visit.
