Four-star 2025 point guard offered by USC

USC is recruiting the point guard position more aggressively these days.

JJ Mandaquit is a four-star, 6-foot-1, 175-pound point guard from the Class of 2025. He was recently offered by Andy Enfield and USC.

Mandaquit is a consensus four-star recruit in the Class of 2025. He’s ranked as high as No. 53 nationally by 247Sports, which also has him as the No. 7 point guard in his class. Mandaquit holds other offers from San Diego State, Washington State, Hawaii, Creighton, Stanford, Utah State, LSU, Utah, VCU, Illinois and Mississippi State.

Mandaquit played his freshman season at Iolani High School in Honolulu before transferring to Real Salt Lake Academy (now Utah Prep) for the 2022-23 season. He averaged 15.5 points, 4.5 assists, three rebounds and 2.9 steals.

Mandaquit also has Team USA experience. He helped the United States win gold this summer at the FIBA Americas U16 Championship tournament in Mexico. He averaged 3.7 points, 2.7 assists and 2.3 rebounds in six games, with his best effort coming with six points, three assists and two rebounds against Argentina in the group phase.

It was a loaded U16 roster for Team USA. Mandaquit was accompanied by elite talents Cayden Boozer, Tyran Stokes and Darryn Peterson, also A.J. Dybantsa and forward Koa Peat.

USC has also offered Dybantsa, Peat and Peterson.

Oklahoma fans were right about Lincoln Riley, at least for this specific season.

USC assistants need to be coaching for their jobs.

Lincoln Riley did not assemble an elite 2023 roster, which surprised us and a lot of other observers.

Is USC ready to win in 2024 with Miller Moss or Malachi Nelson at quarterback? Lincoln Riley has to be honest about how he answers that question.

Brent Venables is coaching Oklahoma far better this year than Lincoln Riley is coaching USC. It’s up to Riley to change that reality.
