We conclude our conversation with 2025 linebacker propsect Elijah Melendez. The four-star recruit from Florida was willing to give candid answers to a wide range of questions. Coaches want to identify coachable players who will give them everything. Melendez shows in this interview that he is trying to become precisely that kind of player.

Trojans Wire: If you could play any other sport, what would it be and why?
Melendez: It would be baseball because that’s where the guaranteed money’s at.
Trojans Wire: What separates you from other linebackers in the 2025 class?
Melendez: I really feel I’m the best linebacker in the nation. I bench 420 and I run a 4.50 laser timed. All of it shows on my film and I work the hardest every day.
