Four-star 2024 running back is on USC’s radar screen

Can USC go into Seattle and pull Jason Brown from the Washington Huskies?

O’Dea High School (Seattle) running back Jason Brown Jr. is ranked as the No. 3 running back in the country for the 2024 class. He is the No. 1 recruit in the state of Washington as measured by the 247Sports composite. Brown stands at 5-foot-10 and 195 pounds. He comes in ranked as the No. 30 overall player in the nation per the 247 composite.

Brown, in 2022, was named to the second team unit of the MaxPreps Junior All-America Team after an impressive junior campaign. He rushed for more than 1,600 yards and 21 touchdowns.

Brown is the type of back that can make an immediate impact with teams throughout the country. He holds 20 offers from — among other schools — USC, Alabama, Washington, Oregon, Tennessee, Michigan State, Georgia, and many more.

Brown talked about USC: “They are a super productive, super dominant offense,” he said. “Versatility is a big thing. That offense shows and highlights everything an NFL offense would want to see in a running back.”

Here’s what 247Sports had to say about Brown as a prospect:

“Brown is one of the premier playmakers in the state, regardless of class and while we loved him as a cornerback early in his career, it’s clear that his future is at running back. It’s also why he’s among the most heavily recruited backs in the country. Brown has showed he hasn’t lost a step as a defender. That said, he’s a running back now and in the future and he runs with power, balance and tremendous vision. He’s got some shiftiness to him but he’s more of a one cut and go type of back, not wasting a lot of time making cuts and juking, but hitting the hole and breaking off runs. His field vision is some of the best we’ve seen from a back in the state, probably since former O’Dea star Myles Gaskin, the four-time 1000-yard rusher.”

At the moment, there are a pair of crystal ball predictions for Brown to stay home and commit to the Washington Huskies.

However, USC is always in the mix until the LOI is signed, sealed and delivered. Let’s see if the Trojans can somehow pull Brown from Seattle.
