4. LSU’s defense came alive.
The Tigers defense only allowed 266 total yards to Vanderbilt. Defensive lineman Jaquelin Roy saw his first action of the season, and played impressive, though he only had one tackle.
Defensive end B.J. Ojulari also looked solid, coming away with a tackle for loss and three total tackles.
Safety Jacoby Stevens led the team with 11 tackles, and both Eli Ricks and Todd Harris recorded an interception.
Vanderbilt did have 153 rushing yards, but the Tigers secondary only allowed 113 passing yards to quarterback Ken Seals.
