As the 2025 recruiting cycle continues on, the North Carolina Tar Heels can remove a prospect off of their big board.
With Hubert Davis pursuing four-star guard Acaden Lewis, the Tar Heels had hoped to and him and add a key piece to their backcourt. Now, the two sides have agreed to part ways in the recruitment.
Per Dushawn London of 247Sports, Lewis is no longer considering the Tar Heels in his recruitment. UNC just recently landed guard Derek Dixon and are in pursuit of guards Braylon Mullins and Isaiah Denis as pieces to the 2025 class.
Four-star combo guard Acaden Lewis, the No. 32 overall prospect in the class of 2025, is nearing the final stages of his recruitment. He has a few more steps before he makes his college decision.
There are some updates.
The 6-foot-2, 170-pound combo guard from Washington, DC is no longer considering UNC. That leaves a final three that includes Duke, UConn, and Kentucky.
In addition to eliminating UNC from his recruitment, Lewis has now scheduled an official visit to Duke. So the Tar Heels could actually see Lewis down the line if he commits to the Blue Devils.
The Tar Heels are now focusing on Mullins and Denis for backcourt pieces and are hoping to build on their one-man recruiting class. They should have decisions from both of those recruits sooner than later.
