Four of the five highest-scoring offenses in college football are in the Pac-12

USC scored 42 points against Arizona State and had a below-average game. That tells you where the floor is for this offense.

The USC offense played well below its best against Arizona State on Saturday. It still scored 42 points. Oregon scored 42 against Colorado on Saturday but pulled its starters in the third quarter. Washington was sloppy against Tulsa in Week 2 and pulled its starters well before the end of its win versus Michigan State in Week 3.

The top offenses in the country are averaging over 45 points, and yet they are doing this despite pulling starters well before games are over. These offenses are lighting up scoreboards even when they aren’t in top form.

USC, Washington, Oregon, and Washington State are producing great numbers and still have left points on the table for various reasons. It shows how great these offenses are.

The Trojans, Huskies, Ducks, and Cougars are all averaging over 45 points per game through Week 4, per Jon Wilner. The only other team averaging over 45 per game: Oklahoma.

The Pac-12 is fun right now. It will be even more fun when the conference’s heavyweights meet each other later in the season.
