Former Washington Huskies OL coach Scott Huff returns to Seattle

The Seattle Seahawks convinced another coach to stay in town instead of moving to Alabama.

After the Seattle Seahawks hired former Washington Huskies offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb to the same role on Friday, head coach Mike Macdonald acquired another former member of Kalen DeBoer’s staff, offensive line coach Scott Huff.

On Sunday afternoon, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported that Huff had finalized an agreement with the offensive line coach who very briefly followed DeBoer to Alabama after he took the job in January. During his seven seasons at Washington, Huff coached 10 All-Pac-12 first-team linemen and saw three linemen get drafted.

He should see two more hear their names called in the 2024 NFL Draft in tackles Troy Fautanu and Roger Rosengarten and now that he’s with the Seahawks, Huff could lobby for general manager John Schneider to take Fautanu with the sixteenth overall pick.

The Seahawks are in need of help along the interior of the offensive line and Fautanu, who is projected to play guard at the NFL level is a plug-and-play option that could solidify the protection in front of quarterback Geno Smith. With two of his former coaches on staff, Fautanu could find himself staying in town when the draft rolls around in April.
