It’s been a while since Kevin Durant took home an MVP trophy for his play in the regular season.
The Brooklyn Nets forward was named NBA Finals MVP twice in his time with his Golden State Warriors, but he hasn’t been the regular season MVP since the 2013-14 season — the one time the four-time scoring champ and nine-time All-NBA forward has received the award.
One of Durant’s old teammates thinks time the forward won his second MVP.
Andre Iguodala, one of Durant’s former Golden State teammates, was part of “The Match: Champions for Change” broadcast, which featured a roster of future football hall of famer Peyton Manning, basketball hall of famer Charles Barkley, five-time PGA major champion Phil Mickelson and Warriors star guard Steph Curry.
While Iguodala said he expects Curry to have “a big year,” he anticipates Durant will be just a bit better — than everyone in the NBA.
“I’m looking forward to seeing KD,” Iguodala said, per Marcus White of NBC Sports Bay Area. “My preseason MVP [pick].”
