How former Vols performed in the NBA Friday

Three former University of Tennessee basketball players were action Friday night.

Two former Vols helped their team notch big victories. Another, Boston’s Grant Williams, saw his team lose and potentially drop into the play-in tournament.

In Dallas, the Mavericks clinched its first Southwestern Division championship as they defeated Cleveland, 110-90, at American Airlines Center.

Former Vol Josh Richardson had 18 points, five rebounds, three assists, three steals and one block for Dallas, which is the No. 5 seed in the Western Conference.

Richardson went 8-for-13 from the floor and 2-for-4 from beyond the 3-point arc for the Mavericks (39-28).

In Philadelphia, the 76ers captured its seventh consecutive victory and retain the top spot in the Eastern Conference with a 109-107 win over New Orleans at Wells Fargo Center.

Former Vol Tobias Harris scored 17 points, grabbed three rebounds, dished out two assists and posted one steal for Philadelphia (46-21). He went 7-for-16 from the floor and was 3-for-5 from long range.

Meanwhile in Chicago, the Bulls defeated Boston, 121-99, at United Center.

With the loss, the Celtics dropped to 35-32 and slipped to the No. 7 seed in the Eastern Conference.

Williams had nine points, two rebounds and one steal in 12 minutes of playing time for the Celtics.

He went 2-for-5 from the field. He was 1-for-4 from outside and made all four of his free throw attempts.
