One former University of Tennessee basketball player was in action Saturday night and he contributed to a late-season home victory for his team.

Former Volunteer Josh Richardson scored eight points, dished out two assists, posted two steals and had one blocked shot in the Mavericks 125-124 victory over Washington at American Airlines Center.

Dallas (36-27) led the Wizards, 70-65, at halftime before Washington (29-35) rallied to take a 97-89 lead by the end of the third quarter.

Dallas outscored Washington, 36-27, over the final 12 minutes of the contest to emerge victoriously.

Richardson started and played 27 minutes in the contest for Dallas, who led 38-26 after the first stanza.
