Former Vols in the NBA: March 21 recap

How former Vols fared in NBA games Sunday.

Three former University of Tennessee basketball players were in action in the NBA Sunday.

All three former Vols made contributions in their teams’ respective victories.

In Portland, Dallas defeated the Trail Blazers 132-92 at the Moda Center.

Josh Richardson scored 21 points and dished out four assists to help the Mavericks (22-19) overcome an early 30-27 deficit to win over Portland (25-17).

Richardson, who started and logged 30 minutes, had four assists. He went 8-for-11 from the floor and was 2-for-4 from beyond the 3-point arc. The former Vol was a perfect 3-for-3 from the free throw line.

In New York, Tobias Harris scored 20 points, pulled down four rebounds and dished out four assists in Philadelphia’s, 101-100, overtime victory over the Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

Harris, who started and played 36 minutes for the 76ers (30-13), had one steal and went 5-for-13 from the field. He was 1-for-3 from long range and 9-for-11 from the foul line.

With the loss, New York dropped to 21-22 on the season.

In Boston, the Celtics captured a 112-96 victory over Orlando at TD Garden.

Grant Williams was held scoreless as he played 20 minutes and had four rebounds, two assists and one steal for Boston (21-21).

Williams was 0-for-3 from the floor and 0-for-1 from beyond the arc against the Magic (14-28).
