One former University of Tennessee basketball player competed in the NBA Tuesday.

In Boston, the Celtics defeated Atlanta, 107-98, at TD Garden.

Grant Williams, a third-year player, appeared off the bench for Boston against the Hawks.

He played 28 minutes and scored 18 points. Williams finished with seven rebounds, one assist and one block.

He was 6-for-11 from the floor, 2-for-4 from beyond the 3-point arc and 4-for-4 from the free throw line.

Williams played three years for the Volunteers and departed after his junior season. He left Tennessee’s program as a two-time Southeastern Conference Player of the Year in 2019.

Williams was selected by Boston with the No. 22 overall pick in the 2019 NBA draft.
