Four former University of Tennessee basketball players were in action in the NBA Wednesday night.
Three of those players saw their teams suffer losses. The other, Tobias Harris, nailed a game-winning shot against the defending champion Los Angeles Lakers.
Another former Volunteer, Josh Richardson, made his return to the hardwood after missing nine consecutive games due to the league’s COVID-19 protocols.
In Philadelphia, Harris’ game-winning shot lifted the 76ers to a 107-106 victory over Los Angeles.
Harris started and played 37 minutes. He scored 24 points, pulled down seven rebounds and dished out three assists for Philadelphia, which improved to 13-6 on the season.
Richardson started for the Dallas Mavericks in his return to the floor. He played 24 minutes, scored six points and grabbed a pair of rebounds in Dallas’ 116-104 loss to Utah in Salt Lake City.
Grant Williams scored three points in Boston’s 110-106 loss to the San Antonio Spurs.
Williams played 11 minutes and had three rebounds for the Celtics.
In Orlando, Jordan Bone played two minutes in the Magic’s 121-107 loss to Sacramento at the Amway Center. He missed his only shot of the game, a 3-point attempt.
