One former University of Tennessee basketball player competed in the NBA Saturday.
Rookie Keon Johnson appeared for the Los Angeles Clippers in their 120-116 victory over the Nets at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
It was the Nets’ second consecutive loss. Los Angeles lost three of its last four games entering the contest.
Johnson played 15 minutes for the Clippers, and avenged its 124-108 loss to Brooklyn in Los Angeles on Dec. 27.
He had one point, four assists, three rebounds and one steal.
Johnson was 0-for-3 from the floor and 1-for-2 from the free throw line.
Johnson left Tennessee after his freshman season and was selected in the first round of the 2021 NBA draft by the Knicks before being traded to Los Angeles.
Johnson has split time between the Clippers and Agua Caliente of the NBA G-League this season.
