Recapping how former Vols fared in NBA games Friday night

A pair of former University of Tennessee basketball players were in action Friday night. Their respective teams posted mixed results on the scoreboard.

In Boston, the Celtics notched a 145-136 overtime victory over Minnesota at TD Garden.

Former Volunteer Grant Williams, who played 23 minutes for Boston (27-26), was held scoreless against the Timberwolves (13-40). He missed his only shot attempt in the contest. It was from beyond the 3-point arc.

Williams had two rebounds, two steals and one assist for the Celtics, who trailed 39-25 after the first quarter.

Meanwhile in New Orleans, Philadelphia dropped a 101-94 decision to the Pelicans at Smoothie King Center.

Tobias Harris scored 23 points and pulled down seven rebounds for the 76ers (35-17).

Harris also had three assists and one steal against the Pelicans (23-29). He started and played 34 minutes, going 7-for-16 from the field and made one 3-point shot.

Harris was 7-for-9 from the free throw line.
