A pair of former University of Tennessee basketball players were in action in the NBA Tuesday night and their two respective teams played each other in an Eastern Conference rivalry game.
Atlantic Division rivals Boston and Philadelphia, which met in the playoffs last season, renewed acquaintances on the hardwood Tuesday at TD Garden with the 76ers coming away with a 106-96 victory.
Former Volunteer Tobias Harris scored 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds to help Philadelphia, the Eastern Conference’s top team, notch a road victory over their rivals in Boston.
Harris started and played 34 minutes. He had four assists, two steals and one block for the Sixers (35-16).
The former Vol went 4-for-11 from the floor and 2-for-3 from the free throw line.
Meanwhile, Grant Williams scored three points and grabbed two rebounds in 16 minutes for Boston (25-26). He made a 3-point basket in the contest.
