Former Vols in the NBA: April 25 recap

How former Vols performed in the NBA Sunday.

One former University of Tennessee basketball player was in action Sunday afternoon and his team suffered a lopsided loss on the road.

Former Volunteer Grant Williams scored nine points, pulled down three rebounds and dished out two assists for Boston in its 125-104 loss to the Hornets at Spectrum Center in Charlotte.

Williams played 19 minutes and went 3-for-4 from the field for the Celtics (32-29).

All of his field goal attempts against the Hornets (30-30) came from beyond the 3-point arc.

Williams left Tennessee after his junior season as the two-time Southeastern Conference Player of the Year.

The former Vol was a first-round draft pick by Boston, going with the No. 22 overall section in the 2019 NBA draft.
