A pair of former University of Tennessee basketball players were in action in the NBA Friday night.
Both made contributions in their respective teams’ victories.
In New York, Josh Richardson scored 11 points to help Dallas notch a 99-86 comeback victory over the Knicks at Madison Square Garden.
Richardson started and played 27 minutes, for the Mavericks, who overcame an early deficit against New York (24-25).
He also had four rebounds, one assist and a steal for Dallas (26-21). He went 5-for-10 from the floor and 1-for-3 from beyond the 3-point arc.
Meanwhile in Boston, Grant Williams scored five points and dished out two assists in the Celtics’, 118-102, victory over the Rockets at TD Garden.
Williams also posted a steal, while going 2-for-5 from the field and made a 3-pointer for Boston (24-25).
With the loss, Houston fell to 13-35 on the season.
