How former Vols fared in NBA games on Sunday.

Two former University of Tennessee basketball players were in action in the NBA Sunday.

Their two teams posted mixed results.

In Denver, Boston used a big fourth quarter to defeat the Nuggets, 105-87, at Ball Arena.

The Celtics (28-26) overcame an early, 27-16, deficit and outscored Denver (34-19), 31-8, over the final 12 minutes.

Former Volunteer Grant Williams scored two points, two rebounds, one assist and one block for Boston.

He played 20 minutes and was 1-for-3 from the field, while missing his lone attempt from beyond the 3-point arc.

Meanwhile in Dallas, the Mavericks came up on the short end of a 119-117 decision against San Antonio at American Airlines Center.

VFL Josh Richardson started and played 36 minutes for Dallas (29-23).

He had 16 points, five rebounds, three assists and one steal against the Spurs (25-26).

Richardson went 7-for-14 from the field and 2-for-5 from long range.
