Former Vol Spencer Riley is reversing fortunes at Jefferson County High School.

Former Vol Spencer Riley has reversed fortunes for Jefferson County High School (Dandridge, Tennessee).

The Patriots (6-3, 2-2 in Region 1-6A) have clinched its second consecutive winning season after a 6-5 record in 2021.

Jefferson County could earn a first-round home game in the TSSAA Class 6A playoffs with a victory against West Ridge (Blountville, Tennessee) Friday.

Riley is a 1996 Jefferson County graduate and played for the Vols from 1996-99. He was a four-year letterman at Tennessee and started at guard during his first two seasons before moving to center as a junior.

Riley played under head coach Phillip Fulmer and was a member of the Vols’ 1998 national championship team.

He was named the Patriots’ head coach in 2016 and is 27-44 during his tenure.
