Former Tennessee pitcher Chase Silseth started for Arizona (45-17) against Vanderbilt in the College World Series on Saturday.
Silseth pitched 6.1 innings for the Wildcats. He recorded six strikeouts, while giving up four earned runs, seven hits and one walk.
Vanderbilt (46-15) defeated Arizona, 7-6, in 12 innings.
Ahead of the College World Series, Silseth went 8-1 in 2021. He recorded a 5.54 ERA and struck out 99 batters.

As a freshman in 2019, Silseth appeared in 18 games for the Vols. He was 1-1 with a 4.35 ERA and recorded 24 strikeouts.
Silseth transferred from Tennessee to the College of Southern Nevada in 2020. During the shortened 2020 campaign due to the coronavirus pandemic, he had a 3-2 record, 2.10 ERA and 46 strikeouts.
Silseth is from Piedra Vista High School in Farmington, New Mexico.

Tennessee will open College World Series play on Sunday at 2 p.m. EDT against Virginia.
ESPN2 will televise the matchup from TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Nebraska.
