Former USC Wide receiver Gary Bryant Jr. slated to visit Texas A&M in late March

USC Wide receiver Gary Bryant Jr. will reportedly visit Texas A&M on March 24th before announcing his official destination at month’s end.

For the Aggies, it’s been unusually quiet on the transfer portal front since the program saw over 20 plus players depart while gaining key commitments from two defensive backs including Florida State transfer Sam McCall, and North Carolina transfer Tony Grimes. Still, in need of depth and talent on both sides of the ball, Head coach Jimbo Fisher is doing everything in his power to land at least one more player through the portal ahead of spring football, and the start of the 2023 season.

On Wednesday, it was revealed that former 2020 4-star wide receiver prospect Gary Bryant Jr., who played his last two and a half seasons at USC, will visit the Aggies on March 24th just days before making his official transfer destination at the end of the month.

Opting to redshirt after recording just two receptions during the 2022 season, Bryant chose the strategic route to save his body for the season to prepare for 2023, knowing that leaving one of the deepest wide receiver depth charts in the country for a program in need of his talents from day 1, and even though Texas A&M’s starting wide receiver group is ripe with talent, their depth is very worrisome.

In two full seasons with the Trojans, Bryant’s most successful season came in 2021, recording 44 receptions for 579 yards and 7 touchdowns, with a solid 13.7 receptions average on the year. If Jimbo Fisher is smart, he won’t let Bryant leave the building without an official “Gig ‘Em, coach”.
