The North Carolina Tar Heels saw a lot of action in the transfer portal with players leaving and others arriving in the offseason. The roster this season is a lot different as Hubert Davis and his staff have had to re-tool it.
One player that left was former four-star recruit and in-state prospect Dontrez Styles. The recruit remained committed under Davis when he took over and spent two years with the program. He then made the decision to transfer to Georgetown and now he’s off to a hot start.
Styles put together an impressive weekend for the Hoyas, scoring 26 on Saturday and then 22 again on Sunday. Over two games he averaged 24 points a game as he enjoyed a breakout weekend.
The forward also brought down 19 total rebounds including 11 on Sunday:

Styles didn’t get the playing time he had hoped for while at UNC and the decision to leave was a tough one.
As he continues to get better and do so on another team, UNC fans have to wonder what could have been in Chapel Hill.
