Former North Carolina center Will Shaver has a new home after entering the transfer portal a few weeks back.
Shaver was one of six players to enter the portal after a disappointing 2022-23 season for the Tar Heels. And after a year and a half in Chapel Hill, he’s heading to Belmont.
The center took to Twitter on Thursday morning to announce he is committed to Belmont and will continue his career there. The former three-star recruit committed to North Carolina as part of the 2021 class and enrolled on campus early. He joined the team as they made a run to the national championship game but did not get playing time.

Finding himself behind Armando Bacot and Jalen Washington, Shaver never really earned playing time in Hubert Davis’ system. He also injured his foot in December and had to miss the rest of the year after surgery.
