Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball program saw a record amount of transfers this past offseason as 8 players entered the transfer portal.
Among those players was sophomore forward Dontrez Styles who committed to UNC as a four-star recruit. Styles received limited playing time off the bench at UNC, a driving factor in his decision to move on. He averaged just 1.8 points per game in 5.9 minutes per game the past two seasons.
He eventually landed with Georgetown to play under new head coach Ed Cooley as he hopes to find his role and show his talent at the college level.
And so far, it sounds like he’s making an impression at least according to one college basketball analyst.
Jon Rothstein tweeted out on Wednesday that Styles is already making an impression with his new team:
North Carolina transfer Dontrez Styles is making an impression. Underrated athlete and off-the-radar as a transfer. Could see a major spike in his numbers next season.

Now, it’s likely that Styles numbers will see an uptick next season as he probably will receive more playing time. If that’s the case, one has to wonder what was going on and the main reason why Styles didn’t earn a lot of time off the bench at North Carolina.
Either way, we hope Styles has a successful career and we’d love to see him do well over at Georgetown.
