Former UCLA safety could land with D’Anton Lynn and USC

USC could get another UCLA Bruin in addition to D’Anton Lynn.

The transfer portal and recruiting trail are heating up. What is the latest with the USC Trojans? The Men of Troy could get some reinforcements in their secondary.

Kamari Ramsey was a top safety with the UCLA Bruins. Crucially, he thrived with D’Anton Lynn, who coached him in Westwood as the Bruins’ defensive coordinator. Will Ramsey follow Lynn to USC? He is currently the number two-rated safety in the portal.

“I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to UCLA for the opportunity to achieve my academic goals and compete athletically. Thank you to the entire UCLA football program for your time, expertise, and fellowship. I give all honor and glory to God,” said Ramsey. “I plan to enter the transfer portal. I have 3 years of eligibility remaining. I am excited for what the future holds for me as a student-athlete.”

The 6-foot-1, 205-pound Ramsey appeared in 15 games at UCLA in 2022 and 2023, recording 46 tackles, 2.5 tackles for a loss, one interception, and five pass deflections.

He went to UCLA from Sierra Canyon School in Chatsworth, California.

He took official visits last week to USC, Washington and Ohio State over a seven-day period. He arrived back home on Monday.

We’re expecting Ramsey to make his decision at some point this week. It sounds like the Trojans are in a good spot. I went ahead and put in a crystal ball forecast for USC to land Kamari Ramsey per Greg Biggins.
