Former Titans QB Vince Young to tell story through book, documentary

Young relayed the news about the book and documentary to ESPN.

You’d be hard-pressed to find a true Tennessee Titans fan who doesn’t have a clear recollection of the days with Vince Young at quarterback.

Now, everyone will have a chance to reminisce a bit more.

Young told ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt in an on-air interview on Friday that there is not just a book, but a documentary in the making that details the quarterback’s life, which we all know has been filled with twists and turns.

There’s been a much higher surge of interest in Young lately since his firsthand publication of “What the Hell Happened to Vince Young?”, which was storied on The Players’ Tribune earlier this year.

Young is pleased with the fact he was able to get his side of the story out there — a goal that will only be furthered after the book and documentary he spoke on with Van Pelt are available for public viewing.

“They don’t know what happened, what’s been said,” he told Van Pelt. “All these type of things go on and everybody has their opinions and assumptions and things like that. I’m just happy that a lot of people heard that and listened to it and they really got the point that I was making.”

Young was originally selected with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2006 NFL Draft, and completed 57.9 percent of his passes for 8,098 yards with 42 touchdowns and 42 interceptions over five years with the team.

Only Steve McNair won more regular season games as a starting signal-caller than Young in the Titans era (1999-present).
