Former Tiger passes away.

Former Clemson wide receiver Diondre Overton has tragically passed away at the age of 26. Overton, who played for the Tigers from 2016 to 2019, was a key part of Clemson’s national championship teams in 2016 and 2018.

Coming out of Page High School in Greensboro, N.C., Overton was a highly regarded 4-star recruit who made an impact with the Tigers. During his college career, he recorded 52 receptions for 777 yards and seven touchdowns across 51 games, with five starts. In 2019, he was named a permanent team captain and earned Academic All-ACC honors.

After leaving Clemson, Overton pursued a professional career, with stops in the CFL, UFL, European Football League, and USFL. Most recently, he was selected by the Memphis Showboats in the USFL Dispersal Draft earlier this year. His passing is a great loss to the Clemson community and beyond.
