Recent reports indicate that Cedric Ogbuehi, a former outstanding offensive tackle for Texas A&M between 2010 and 2014, has officially signed with the Miami Dolphins as of Monday afternoon. In the 2015 NFL Draft, Ogbuehi was chosen as the 21st overall pick by the Cincinnati Bengals. His exceptional performance as an offensive tackle during his senior season in 2014, and his versatility, made him a valuable selection for the Bengals.
After three up-and-down seasons in Cincinnati playing both right and left tackle while appearing in just 25 games, Ogbuehi has made his way around the league the last four years, starting in 2019 with the Jacksonville Jaguars, 2020 with the Seattle Seahawks, 2021 with the Baltimore Ravens and the 2022 season with the New York Jets, where he started four games at right tackle.
Head coach Mike McDaniel’s offensive line for Miami is all but set. However, uncertainty at the starting right tackle spot is still in question, hence signing another experienced veteran joining recent OT free agent signing, Isaiah Wynn, with versatility at the tackle spot. Now for the fantastic Texas A&M connection; Ogbuehi will be joining former standout Aggies running back De’Von Achane, who the Dolphins recently drafted in the 3rd round of the 2023 NFL Draft if he can make the team. Good luck, Cedric! Gig ‘Em!
