Texas A&M’s 19 transfer portal departures should be the final number. The portal is set to close on Saturday, meaning any player considering a new home for the 2025 season must decide in five days.
For the Aggies, nearly every departed player was either a backup or key reserve that saw little playing time, outside of offensive linemen Kam Dewberry and TJ Shanahan. Dewberry, who committed to Alabama, will likely see more snaps next season, while Shanahan is looking for a starting job elsewhere.
Sticking with the trenches, the first Texas A&M player to enter the portal was junior offensive lineman Aki Ogunbiyi, who battled numerous injuries while subsequently being buried on the depth chart for his first three seasons. With one year of eligibility remaining, the incoming senior will reportedly head to the Big 12 for his final collegiate season.
According to On3, Ogunbiyi will transfer to Colorado to play for head coach Deion Sanders in 2025 and will likely compete for a starting job at right or left guard as soon as this spring.
Coming out of the recruiting ranks, Ogunbiyi was seen as a star in the making as a run blocker but never had a chance to match his high school production with the Aggies.
