Former Texas A&M 5-star CB has transferred to his fourth school

Former Texas A&M, LSU, and UTSA CB Denver Harris is on the move again

The Denver Harris saga is undoubtedly captivating. The former five-star prospect from the Aggies’ historic 2022 recruiting class played just one season at Texas A&M, part of a remarkable recruiting cycle that has now dwindled to fewer than ten players after this offseason’s transfer portal activity.

Harris’ first and only season with the Aggies was marred by off-the-field issues combined with sporadic play. The once-heralded prospect failed to live up to expectations, choosing not to develop within the program and transferring after A&M’s 5-7 2022 campaign.

First, Harris, still deemed a borderline elite cornerback with immense potential, chose to transfer to LSU for the 2023 season, only recording seven tackles and two pass deflections in just a handful of appearances. For whatever reason, Harris once again entered the portal.

Wanting to return to Texas, Harris chose the UTSA Roadrunners as his next school for the 2024 season. He has shown substantial improvement in coverage. On the year, Harris recorded 16 tackles and three pass deflections but has yet to record his first collegiate interception.

According to Pro Football Focus, Harris earned 64.7 defensive and 63.5 coverage grades during his one season with UTSA.

On Tuesday, Denver Harris was announced as a transfer to UNLV for the 2025 season, joining new head coach Dan Mullen and enhancing the Rebels’ secondary.
