Burkhead rushed 148 times for 507 yards in three touchdowns for the Texans from 2021 to 2022. He also caught 62 passes for 390 yards and one touchdown during that span. He mostly played as a backup and pass-catching running back during his time with the Bengals and Patriots but developed into a reliable role player for multiple offenses. Burkhead joined the Texans’ three-back committee alongside Mark Ingram and David Johnson. He played backup to Dameon Pierce in 2022 during the rookie’s sensational start.
