In what was obviously a staged publicity stunt, former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown sat with the ESPN reporter Josina Anderson for an interview. Anderson lobbed up some softballs to Brown to help him try to mend fences with all the relationships Brown destroyed over the last year.
And he made a pretty half-hearted effort to do so. In the interview, Anderson asked Brown if there was anyone he wanted to apologize to. Rather than go into any specifics, because there are plenty, Brown just said he felt he owes the entire NFL an apology. Really?
Anyone who feels like this is genuine, I have a bridge in Brooklyn I want to see you and I’ll throw in a canyon in Arizona so you have someplace to keep it. It seems Brown finally needed an attorney to tell him just how badly he’s handled his life over the last year to convince him to stop acting like such a fool in public.
The next steps will be first to see if he can maintain his level of public sanity and second will any NFL teams buy his snake oil.
