Former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Vince Williams is the latest former player to go public with his endorsement of Penn State cornerback Joey Porter Jr. to the Steelers in the 2023 NFL draft.
Joey Porter Sr. played for the Steelers from 1999 to 2006 and is widely regarded as one of the best pass rushers in franchise history. Williams played for the Steelers from 2013 to 2020.
Porter Jr. checked in at the NFL Scouting Combine this week at 6-foot-2 and one-half and 193 pounds. He ran a respectable 4.46-second 40-yard dash and had some of the largest hands of any cornerback at the combine.
Pittsburgh could very well end up taking Porter in the first, especially if the team can’t find a way to re-sign free-agent cornerback Cameron Sutton. This will be the news to track as soon as free agency begins as it will go a long way toward molding the Steelers draft board.
Lil Peezy to the Steelers. I need it.
