Monday Night Football was struck with tragedy when Buffalo Bills defensive back Damar Hamlin suffered a catastrophic injury on a play which send him into cardiac arrest on the field. You can keep up with all the latest information on Hamlin with our friends over at Bills Wire. We are all praying that Hamlin makes a complete recovery.
The incident forced the postponement of the game which sent the ESPN team into action to fill in that time while awaiting the decision and then after the fact to offer some insight on what had happened and speculate about what this means going forward.
But there was nothing more moving from the broadcast than when former Pittsburgh Steelers safety Ryan Clark talked about his own football-related medical scare from 2007. Clark suffered a splenic infarction shortly after playing the Denver Broncos that kept him hospitalized for a month.
Watch the video below to get some perspective on just how serious a situation like this can be and why worrying about football in moments like this are meaningless.
