The NBA Playoffs are still going on inside the bubble in Orlando, but obviously, the Philadelphia 76ers are no longer a part of it after Round 1. A former member of the Sixers just had his season end as well, but he performed admirably.
Now playing center for the Houston Rockets, Robert Covington took on a much different role than he had in the past and he performed at an admirable level. He shot well from deep at 50% throughout the playoffs, he averaged 11.2 points per game, he pulled down 5.0 rebounds, and he also led the playoffs in steals at 2.5 while also blocking 1.1 shots per game as he set the tone for a pretty good Rockets defense.
Covington would be a great guy to have on this Sixers team as they badly missed his 3-point shooting and his elite defense. He was, of course, sent to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Jimmy Butler trade. In hindsight, the trade hurts even more as Covington flourished for Houston and the Sixers were unable to keep Butler.
