Former Sixers in playoffs: Jerami Grant has career night for Nuggets

Former Philadelphia 76ers forward Jerami Grant is playing well in the playoffs for the Denver Nuggets.

The Philadelphia 76ers have been out of the playoffs for a month now, but there are still some former Sixers in the postseason that are having some success.

Other than Jimmy Butler, there is one former Sixer who is under the radar and is producing.

That would be Jerami Grant for the Denver Nuggets who had a terrific night in Tuesday’s 114-106 Game 3 win over the Los Angeles Lakers. Grant scored a career playoff-high 26 points on 7-for-11 shooting while getting to the free-throw line 12 times along with three rebounds and two steals.

He also played terrific defense all night as he used his length to help keep Anthony Davis off the boards who only had two rebounds on the night. He was a big reason why the Nuggets were able to get on the board in the Western Conference Finals.

Grant was selected with the 39th pick in the 2014 NBA Draft by the Sixers and he lasted a little over two seasons in Philadelphia before being traded to the Oklahoma Cuty Thunder two games into the 2016-17 season for Ersan Ilyasova. He averaged 8.2 poimts and 3.9 rebounds during his time in Philadelphia, but he did not fit into the team’s future plans. [lawrence-related id=37834,37825,37822]
