The Golden State Warriors took back the home-court advantage with a Game 4 win over the Boston Celtics on Friday and with the series shifting back to the Bay Area for Game 5, they were looking to take advantage of it.
On Monday night, the Warriors led the Celtics by 16 points early, but Boston battled back in a big way and they took a lead in the third quarter on a triple by former Philadelphia 76ers big man Al Horford. It looked as though the Celtics would battle back and win a game on the road again in these NBA Finals.
Instead, the Warriors showed off their championship DNA and knocked off Boston 104-94 in Game 5 and are now one win away from a title. Former Sixers big man, Horford had nine points and nine rebounds and he knocked down two of his three triples.

This was an impressive win for Golden State as Steph Curry shot a miserable 7-for-22 from the floor and he was 0-for-9 from deep. When a team’s best player struggles as much as Curry did on Monday, that normally leads to a loss. Andrew Wiggins stepped up in a big way for the Warriors as he had 26 points and 13 rebounds.
Horford and the Celtics will look to keep their season alive on Thursday when this series shifts back to the TD Garden for Game 6.
