Former Seahawks center Justin Britt felt ‘unwanted’ in Seattle

Former Seahawks starting center Justin Britt told reporters he felt “unwanted” in Seattle and will now get his shot with the Houston Texans.

The Seattle Seahawks said goodbye to their starting center Justin Britt before the start of last season, releasing the long-time starter in April 2020. Britt then sat out the year before signing with the Houston Texans this March.

The center opened up to Houston reporters via Zoom last week about his departure from the Seathawks.

“I felt, leaving Seattle, I felt unwanted, but like they were good to me,” Britt said May 20 via the Texans Wire. “I enjoyed my time there and the friendships I made and playing with Russ (Wilson), I’m forever grateful for that.”

Seattle decided to go in a different direction from Britt last season opting to go with Ethan Pocic as the starter. Britt himself will now get another shot at making a starting lineup with a new team.

“You pull up to the stadium and know that this is where I work,” Britt explained. “It’s incredible. It took maybe a couple of weeks to get used to things, but I think everyone in the building does a really good job of making people feel like they’ve been here.”
