Last week, the Antonio Brown saga took it’s worst turn yet as he was arrested and charged with felony burglary with battery after allegedly assaulting a moving truck driver in Hollywood, Florida. Brown was taken to court and put under house arrest before eventually being released this weekend.
Over the last month, Brown posted numerous videos involving the police in regards to a domestic dispute at his home. He later apologized to the police force after verbally abusing them on Instagram.
Ahead of the Super Bowl, Brown spoke with ESPN’s Josina Anderson to discuss his tumultuous year since he was traded away from the Pittsburgh Steelers to the Oakland Raiders. Brown admitted that he’s been the “problem child of the NFL” as of late and expressed that via an apology:
“I think I owe the whole NFL an apology and my past behavior. I think I could have done a lot of things better.”
Earlier this week, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell spoke about Brown and wanting to get him help. It remains to be seen whether or not Brown will take up the commissioner’s offer, but it does appear that he is more open to that now than ever before. For the sake of Brown and his safety, let’s hope that he continues making amends for his past transgressions and seeks counseling.
