Shaquill Griffin’s brief Carolina Panthers career will remain exactly that.
According to Bleacher Report NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the 28-year-old cornerback is expected to sign a one-year pact with the Minnesota Vikings. The deal, per Schultz, is worth up to $6 million.
Carolina claimed Griffin off waivers back on Nov. 30, 2023. He began the season as a member of the Houston Texans, for whom he registered six starts over 10 games.
Griffin made his Panthers debut in the team’s win over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 15. He played all eight of his snaps on special teams.
The former Pro Bowler would hit the field as a corner beginning in Week 16, where he recorded 14 defensive snaps against the Green Bay Packers. He then got the start in Week 17’s loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Prior to his short stay in Charlotte, Griffin racked up four years with the Seattle Seahawks and two with the Jaguars.
