Former Oklahoma Sooners head coach Kelvin Sampson is heading back to the Final Four for the first time since the 2002 NCAA tournament. That season Sampson led the OU men’s basketball team to a record of 31-5 as they finished as a Final Four team. They would end up losing to Indiana 73-64, who would end as the runner-up in the NCAA Tournament.
Sampson would end up leaving for Indiana following the 2005-06 season but would last just two seasons. He returned to the college game at the University of Houston after six seasons as an assistant in the NBA. In seven seasons he has led the Cougars to the Sweet 16 and now the Final Four.
