Former Oklahoma Sooners in the NFL: 2020 season in review

The 2020 NFL season is finally in the books following the Super Bowl. A look back at each former Oklahoma Sooner in the league.

Another NFL season has come and gone. The 2020 campaign ended in Tampa, FL, in a very similar scene with Tom Brady lifting the Lombardi Trophy.

This past season 32 former Oklahoma Sooners were on active rosters in the NFL. Damien Williams of the Kansas City Chiefs opted out of the season due to the coronavirus. His team would fall to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Super Bowl, 31-9. The loss by the Chiefs meant that long snapper James Winchester wouldn’t get his second championship ring.

The season saw three former Oklahoma Sooner quarterbacks as starters in the NFL. Jalen Hurts would be named starter late in the season and even went head-to-head with another former OU passer, Kyler Murray. Murray was one half of the most memorable hail mary throws this year.

In Cleveland, the former Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Baker Mayfield brought the Browns back to the playoffs. They won their first postseason game since 1994.

Another former player in Adrian Peterson proved that he still has something left in the tank. Rookie wide receiver CeeDee Lamb had a catch for the Dallas Cowboys that you have to see to believe.

With the 2020 season complete, a look back at how the former Sooners performed in the league.
