Former Oklahoma Sooners commit, four-star WR enters transfer portal

Former Oklahoma Sooners four-star wide receiver commit enters the transfer portal after two seasons with Georgia.

The Oklahoma Sooners have experienced significant turnover at the wide receiver position this offseason. They’ve added four wideouts: Javonnie Gibson, Keontez Lewis, Isaiah Sategna and Josiah Martin in the [autotag]transfer portal[/autotag]. However, they lost six wide receivers in the portal, so the Sooners could continue searching for another weapon to add to their offense.

One player they’re very familiar with is available. According to Hayes Fawcett of On3, former Georgia wide receiver and one-time Oklahoma commit [autotag]Anthony Evans[/autotag] entered the portal on Sunday.

Evans, a former four-star wide receiver, committed to Oklahoma in the [autotag]2023 recruiting class[/autotag] but flipped to the Bulldogs in November of 2022 after visiting Georgia earlier in the year.

Evans has the speed to be a force for an offense and on special teams. He appeared in 19 games over two seasons for the Bulldogs, including 11 in 2024. This season, he had nine receptions for 88 yards. As a returner, he averaged 7.6 yards per punt return and 17.7 yards per kick return for the SEC champions.

Evans was used primarily in the screen game by Georgia as it attempted to get him the ball in the open field. But he never played more than 17 snaps in a game for the Dawgs.

Could the Oklahoma Sooners renew their relationship?
